Come when my heart is full of grief
Or when my heart is merry;
Come with the falling of the leaf
Or with the redd'ning cherry.
Come when the year's first blossom blows,
Come when the summer gleams and glows,
Come with the winter's drifting snows,
And you are welcome, welcome.
~ Paul Laurence Dunbar (1872-1906)
I am here to remind you that recovery is possible; connection is possible.
I am a psychotherapist who provides a safe space for adults to find ways to clarify their goals, connect with their values, process insights, and transform challenges.
My work matters because everyone deserves to live a life that gives them hope and meaning.
I have devoted most of my life to seeing the good in others and helping them to see it in themselves.
Sarah Heuser, LICSW
that love and connection are essential.
that learning and growth can be hard,
but that they are vitally important.
in the inherent worth and dignity of all people.
Rather than having a preconceived agenda for our work together, I invite you to participate in guiding the direction of therapy through articulating what you want to achieve through the therapeutic experience and relationship.
I support you by being fully present and truly listening to you.
I offer a nonjudgmental space for exploring your inherent worth and value.
I possess expertise in mind/body techniques and can incorporate them into our sessions by introducing you to breathing, mindfulness, CBT, EFT, and EMDR, as relevant. However, I don’t pressure you into adopting any particular modality.
Progress in therapy is not primarily a result of the approach, technique, or modality; it’s fueled by the connection between us.
I offer a grounded, caring, and compassionate therapeutic relationship.
